摘要:

Neutrinos are the only known electrically neutral fundamental fermions, and they are arranged to have no mass in the standard model. But flavor oscillations of solar, atmospheric, accelerator and reactor neutrinos imply tiny neutrino masses and significant flavor mixing. In this talk I shall outline what we have known about neutrinos, discuss why they are weakly interacting and extremely light, and conjecture what is probably behind the observed pattern of lepton flavor mixing. Some personal comments on sterile neutrino species and the road ahead will also be given.   

 

报告人简介:

邢志忠 研究员,1987年毕业于北京大学物理系,1993年获得中国科学院高能物理研究所博士学位,之后分别在慕尼黑大学物理系与名古屋大学物理系做博士后,2001年初回国。
主要从事费米子质量起源与中微子基本性质的理论研究。2011年与周顺博士合作出版专著《Neutrinos in Particle Physics, Astronomy and Cosmology》,2020年在Physics Reports发表综述文章“Flavor structures of charged fermions and massive neutrinos”。
