摘要:
We propose an axion model with the SU(6) unification symmetry. This model can automatically give rise to a global U(1)_PQ symmetry from two anti-fundamental fermions. The physical axion satisfies the Peccei-Quinn quality condition without much fine-tuning of the dimension-6 operator, with mass predictions of 10^(−3)- 0.1 eV. The axion-photon coupling of |g_(aγγ) | is identical to that in the type-I Dine-Fischler-Srednicki-Zhitnitsky model, and can be probed in the upcoming experiments of IAXO. Besides of the axion physics, we also find some other features of the SU(6) model: (1) extended 331-symmetry at the "axion scale" of ~10^9− 10^11GeV, (2) to achieve the type-I seesaw at the axion scale, (3) a type-II 2HDM at the EW scale, (4) to safely avoid the axion domain wall problem. We also briefly discuss the gauge coupling unification with a possible SUSY extension.
